Pentagon Spying on U.S. Citizens

Since when has the U.S. military had this authority?

The Pentagon has been using a little-known power to obtain banking and credit records of hundreds of Americans and others suspected of terrorism or espionage inside the United States, part of an aggressive expansion by the military into domestic intelligence gathering.

What’s chilling is that quite a few phony conservatives are more upset at the New York Times‘ reporters than they are at this ominous development. The broad legal interpretation of the PATRIOT Act that’s led to the Pentagon’s foray into domestic spying should set alarm bells ringing for true conservatives. Sadly, mindless partisan cheerleading is likely to cloud the thinking of too many RINOs who seem to think that anything is justifiable in the name of “national security”.
