More Death in Baghdad

Look, there’s no doubt that removing Saddam led to a breakdown in the social order in Iraq. But in the name of all that’s good, you can’t blame the apparent love Sunnis or Shias have of killing each another on Americans:

Three suicide car bombers and two mortar attacks shook Baghdad’s Sadr City Shiite slum Thursday afternoon, killing at least 144 people and wounding 236 others, many of them seriously, police said.

Frankly, I don’t see how you stop people from killing each other when they believe that’s their only guaranteed path to paradise. But more to the point: The United States has no divine imperative to save others from themselves.
