Sharon and I started a new venture this past weekend, and it felt really good. This past Saturday night, we began a weekly syndicated talk show on the Republic Broadcasting Network.
Now, in this modern age when approximately 10% of all adult Americans have their own talk show, that may not seem like a big deal. Understand, though, that when I was a kid growing up in Chicago, while my friends spent their nights jamming with the legendary Top 40 stations like WLS and Super CFL, I listened to late-night talk show hosts like Dave Baum, Milton Rosenberg, and “Chicago Ed” Schwartz.
We very nearly moved to Tennessee last summer because I thought I’d be jumping to a start-up radio network as an all-night talk host. Didn’t work out, but that’s okay. I’m having a lot more fun with this program talking with my wife than I’d have had doing it alone. I’m also a lot more interesting when she does half the talking.
Give us a listen Saturday night between 10pm and Midnight CT (GMT -6). Peering Into Darkness airs live on C-band satellite and on the Internet at www.rbnlive.com.
