Haven’t written much about the Bears this year. I’ve been a little busy in other areas of my life, and besides, I really didn’t think this ride would get this far.
Despite a subpar performance by Rex Grossman yesterday, the Bears put 23 points on the board. Any other game at Soldier Field this year, that would have been enough to win; the Bears had allowed an average of less than 8 points a game at home before yesterday.
Kudos where they’re due, however: Head coach Lovie Smith did a great job this year with the players available, making do with a gaping hole at quarterback most of the season. Insert Chicago Sports Fan Mantra here: Wait ’til next year.
