T-Rex Blood!

This is an incredible find:

A 70-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex recently discovered in Montana, scientists reported today, has apparently yielded the improbable: soft tissues, including blood vessels and possibly cells, that “retain some of their original flexibility, elasticity and resilience.”

In a paper being published on Friday in the journal Science, the discovery team said that the remarkable preservation of the tissue might open up “avenues for studying dinosaur physiology and perhaps some aspects of their biochemistry.”

The aspect of biochemistry I’d like them to investigate is the mechanism that allowed proteins and soft tissues which normally break down within thousands of years–thousands–to remain intact for “70 million”.

Good grief! Does the science world and mainstream press need to see one of these running through downtown New York before they consider the possibility that the evidence doesn’t support their evolutionary timeline?! This is the kind of blind faith we creationists are supposed to have!

What the New York Times article doesn’t mention is that this same team discovered red blood cells inside another T-Rex in 1997, but quickly backtracked on its finding when it became obvious that creationists were making hay with the news. Let’s see what happens with this.

  1. “This is the kind of blind faith we creationists are supposed to have!” What a great point! I love it.

Why is it so hard for so many to accept the conclusion that dinosaur bones are not millions of years old? The T-Rex soft tissue evidence not only supports the idea that dinosarus lived with man (for example, before a world-wide flood), but also the idea that rock layers containing these dinosaur bones must also be young. Why not be honest and consider that the layers and bones could have been deposited and hydrologically sorted much more recently due to something like a global flood. It’s no accident that there are 100’s of flood legends world wide that agree very closely with the flood account in the Bible.

The fact is that the idea of “long periods of time” for Earth???s layers to form was championed by Charlie Lyall who took the idea and sketched on paper what is now called the geologic column back in 1830. This idea (of millions of years) was simply accepted and placed in the textbooks ever since. Charlie simply liked this idea over the idea of layers deposted more recently hydrologically. The fact is that hydrologic sorting of layers is seen today for example in canyons formed after the recent Mount St. Helens eruption. Why hasn’t Charlie’s idea of millions of years been challenged by honest professors and scientists? One reason might be that the geologic column is now almost considered to be the “bible” for evolutionists. Why? This is because today, fossils are dated by the layers they are found in simply by looking at the “idea-sketch” of the geologic column with it’s millions of years. This is because any other fossil dating methods are known to be unreliable and thrown out if it doesn’t agree with the “assumed date” of the rock layer as per the geologic column.

It’s interesting that the circular reasoning of “layers dating bones” and “bones dating layers” remains largely unchallenged by professors and students world wide. What happened to critical thinking? Could it be that the conclusion of a young Earth created by a Creator is avoided, because it means we are accountable to that Creator?
