I’m getting this post up late because Sharon and I have spent the better part of the last two days getting moved over to our new place. The move is only about four blocks, but the older you get, the tougher it is to get your body to do what it needs to do.
Plus we had a brief window of “no Internet” last night and today. Funny how that made me edgy until we got things switched over. That’s something I have to watch. It’s easy to forget that real life happens when the laptop is closed.
As for real life, we’ve got another big slice of it at the Boone County Fair this weekend. Vicki Russell, associate publisher of the Columbia Daily Tribune and president of the Boone County Fair Board, called in with an update today. I look forward to the annual Boone’s Lick Trail BBQ Contest this weekend, at which I will serve as an official judge, certified and sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. It was last year’s fair, which hit the week after we arrived in Columbia, that first introduced me to competition barbecue.
